By 2045, our region’s population is estimated to grow by 42%. How will our transportation infrastructure be able to serve this growth when funding continues to be limited and competitive? The 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) is a long range plan that outlines goals and strategies, guiding the expenditure of federal transportation funds in Fayette and Jessamine counties for the next 26 years.  The MTP outlines a multi-modal approach to transportation investment with a goal to improve safety and mobility for motorists, pedestrians, bicyclists, transit users and freight providers.  The MTP is updated every 5 years and covers a 26 year planning period. The MPO conducted a major update of the MTP in 2019.
