Our city is indeed on the move.

Lexingtonians are biking and walking more than ever before. We’re hopping more buses and sharing rides – finding more sustainable and greener ways to get around town. Our infrastructure is evolving to accommodate more bikes and pedestrians.

Yet the unsustainable fact remains…. 79% of Lexington area residents report driving to work alone (a single occupant vehicle) as their primary means of commuting.

Lex On the Move is a citywide initiative conducted by the Lex Area MPO to raise awareness on the effects of population growth on transportation and the ways we’ll get around in the near future.  MPO is encouraging active participation by motivating and incentivizing local businesses and their employees to consider healthier, greener more sustainable ways to get around.
