- All proposed projects in the MPO Area – The projects are shown in 5 year time bands, indicating the general order of priority. The maps include a project ID number that corresponds with project tables shown in Appendix B in the MTP that you can reference for additional detail.
- All proposed projects in Lexington (inset map) – The same map as above, zoomed into the center of Lexington
- All committed projects in the MPO Area – Projects that are scheduled in the Lexington area (that are not ranked within the 2050 MTP) because they have already advanced through various phases of project development as part of our prior MTP. These projects are considered to be committed projects. The map includes a project ID number that corresponds with the project tables shown on page 99 in the MTP that you can reference for additional detail.

- New Roads
- Projects that add vehicular lanes (through lanes, right or left turn lanes)
- Projects that add center turn lanes (typically a two-lane road converted to three lanes to add the center turn lane)
- Projects that add bicycle/pedestrian facilities (sidewalks, trails, bike lanes, etc)
- Projects that include transit improvements (bus stop improvements, sidewalk connections, shortens bus travel time, etc)
- Projects that may include innovative intersections to improve safety or traffic flow (roundabouts, restricted crossing U-turns, diverging diamonds, displaced lefts, etc)
- Projects that include access management and/or raised medians to improve vehicular and pedestrian safety and to add greenspace and landscaping
- Projects to add curb and gutter to improve stormwater drainage and other urban design features. These area typically projects that will modernize a rural road that is now within an urban area
Note: these are conceptual improvements that will be explored and determined in the design phase.
